Hey Fam,
I'm Alexander Padei ("PAH-day"). Music is life for me. As a teenager, I pushed hard to succeed academically, so hard that I got into Harvard. There was talk of an investment banking career, computer engineering, maybe a law degree. But I learned the hard way that none of these were my calling when my grades slipped and Harvard asked me to take a year off and figure out my shit.
So fast forward past all the obligatory excuse-making, etc., and I've reconnected with something that's been with me since I was a small kid: The Music. I start DJing. I suck at first, but I get better. I go into debt on some speakers and start doing paid gigs. I start a promotional company in Boston, I pour all that money into learning how to produce, rap, song-write, sing, market, speak, network, and more over the next five years. Along the way, I start working in spaces that feed my love of entrepreneurship and TEDx HarvardCollege makes me their Marketing Director. I begin to surround myself with amazing like-minded new friends. I start a podcast, I start an interview series and bring in major acts like Laidback Luke, I start making music for other artists and then for startups.
Yeah, it's a bit of a whirlwind. But after all this, I've connected with my calling. I'm a multi-varied recording artist, producer and DJ, a creative problem solver, a marketer, a public speaker and a thought leader. I want to become the best artist of my generation. I also want to teach others along the way about building their own creativity and help democratize the music industry. All of my music is self produced, self-written and done on a low budget. I want people to see that they don't need to ask permission or wait for massive resources to come to them to get started. Finding your calling is too important to wait.
Welcome to the Padei Life
Matt's a Boston-based filmmaker/photographer.
But really he's really a storyteller. From his dope Youtube channel filled with tutorials and BTS of him creating, to his vlog about travels across Southeast Asia, to his dope corporate video work through his companies BYB Media and NocNation.com, Matt and I have made a lot of dope content together.
Also, nobody can get more out of a cellphone camera like this guy.
Conor's the connector. Whether it's helping an individual find their next job, or bringing value to an organization via a proven product or service. Honestly, nobody knows people like Conor. Sometimes I'll be talking to somebody -- NOT doing a great job at it -- and Conor will step in and make them his best friend in about 5 minutes.
He's Director of Business Development at Geneva Capital Group, and founder of Beyond Metrics, a Technology Placement firm that looks beyond metrics to make effective employee/employer matches.
So yeah, good guy to have in the room.
Alex is one of those renaissance men who reminds me of me. He's a lawyer, now, but was one of the top promoters in Miami for 10 years. He's deep in the Blockchain space and connects clients to the right lawyers as his bread and butter. NBD, but he is also the President of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, so yeah.
After Miami he went to Harvard for a masters and to throw a bunch of dope events (read: parties?) there, too, like the Harvard Leadership Conference, Harvard Masquerade Ball & Lectures That Last, which all experienced an increase in attendance and/or revenue of 50%+ during his leadership.
He knows business, he knows finance and he knows marketing (triple degree, no joke), he's a lifelong music lover and I love him for it.
