Alexander Padei is a multi-racial self-produced artist, music producer and DJ who bends genres across R&B, Hip Hop, Reggaeton & Island. He loves collaborating and talking creative philosophy. Starting in 2012, Padei began his music career as a DJ and music producer in training. Starting a nightlife brand in 2013 called "The List," with college buddies, Padei threw countless underground college parties and cut his teeth on Open Format DJing in clubs across Boston, getting his first club residency at 19 years old. Over the next 6 years, he would put his time in between DJing and classes towards learning how to produce and, eventually, how to write and record full songs.
In Summer of 2019, his work would finally paid off. Childhood weekends in church choir and cello lessons... countless high school hours in cover bands... a year of college acapella... a brief but passionate fascination with J-Pop around age 15... 8 years as a professional DJ... countless Youtube tutorials on proper EQ etiquette... and plenty of introspection came together when he brought 18 musical creatives from across Boston into his Medford music studio (read: basement) to make the monster collaborative project F*** It We'll Do It Ourselves, a mixtape and multimedia experience that celebrated the indie hip hop artistic experience across the Greater Boston area. The project dropped to universal critical acclaim across Boston and cemented Padei as a rising indie talent in the community. He also began the tape's sister project, "The Cold Call" a show where he invites guest artists into his studio, each episode, to make a song from scratch in 5 hours or less.
Today, Padei continues his journey, constantly seeking new ways to collaborate and improve as an artist, storyteller, creator and more. Join him for great music, inspiration and more.
